Traci Girondo was born on February 8, 1986 in a small town nestled between the Continental Divide and Seneca Rocks called Elkins, West Virginia. At the time of her birth her family lived in Buckhannon, West Virginia and resided there until Traci was 12 years old. Her family then relocated back to Elkins, West Virginia and still currently resides there. While living in Elkins, Traci was very active in her community and school. She was a swim instructor for a local swim team and also swam for her highschool. Traci graduated from Elkins High School in 2004 where she was a member of the cheerleading squad, swim team, student council, madrigal choir, and the National Honor Society. She is the daughter of William Girondo and the late Terry Girondo. The third child in a family of four children, Traci will be the first in her family to graduate from college.
Traci currently attends Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia where she is a senior majoring in Communication Disorders. After graduating, she plans to further her education by obtaining a Master’s of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology. Traci has high aspirations to work in a hospital and focus her skills to the area of neurogenics. At Marshall Traci is a member of the National Student Speech-Language and Hearing Association (NSSLHA) and the Marshall University Christian Fellowship.
Outside of school Traci enjoys spending time with her family and friends, running, reading, and swimming. She is excited to graduate in May 2008 and fulfill a lifelong dream of her own, but also to fulfill a dream of her mother’s which was to have one of her children graduate from college.
